Meet Katherine
With over 25 years of dedicated courtroom experience and a proven commitment to upholding justice, Katherine McDaniel is ready to serve Kendall County as Judge of the newly created 498th Judicial District Court.
Since the inception of the Kendall County Criminal District Attorney's Office in 2017, Katherine has served as First Assistant Criminal District Attorney, providing oversight for thousands of cases spanning a broad spectrum, from complex violent crimes to sensitive juvenile matters. In this leadership role, she has been instrumental in developing policies that enhance community safety.
Recognized statewide as a leading authority on search and seizure law and a trusted resource for law enforcement training, Katherine is respected throughout Texas for her impartiality, rigor, and unwavering integrity.
A native of San Antonio, Katherine holds degrees from The University of Texas at Austin and Texas Tech University School of Law. Before relocating to Boerne, she served for nearly two decades as an Assistant District Attorney in Houston, accumulating extensive experience as a line-level prosecutor, District Court Chief, and Special Crimes Prosecutor. These responsibilities extended to handling civil writs, complementing her extensive work successfully prosecuting over one hundred and fifty major crime trials.

Rooted in Kendall County
Katherine lives in Boerne with her husband, a retired homicide detective, and their teenage son. She has served on the boards of the Kendall County Women’s Shelter, Boerne Police Foundation, and is actively involved in her church and local schools.
This is her home — and she’s ready to continue serving with compassion, fairness, and strength.
